THE BLUE CITY
IMPRESSIONS OF CHEFCHAOUEN
The small city of Chefchaouen is located in the northwest of Morocco’s Rif mountains. During centuries it was considered a divine city, that didn’t tolerate foreigners. Infringements were forbidden under penalty of death.
When we come arround nothing like this happens to us. To the contrary we feel very welcome.
Chefchaouen is worth to take a closer look. A walk through the blue medina isn’t just blue, it’s a colorful adventure.
Good for you to know: The color of blue protects against the evil eye, they say.

Small corner shops like this one you still can find everywhere in Morocco. Sometimes they are the only source of shopping in a village.
